Who are the Friends?
The Friends of Missisquoi National Wildlife Refuge, Inc. is an all-volunteer, tax-exempt 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. In addition to money secured from memberships, donations, and grants, the Friends also raise funds by selling educational books and materials at the Visitor Center. All monies go directly back to supporting the Refuge
The Friends provide this support in a variety of ways:
Bring awareness to the Refuge through public outreach
Provide environmental education webinars, presentations, group birding opportunities, and various other outdoor events that invite people to enjoy the Refuge
Financially support learning opportunities at the Refuge for both students and adults
Advocate for the Refuge
Give financial support and assist the Refuge in acquiring grant funding for invasive species control
Work in collaboration with the Refuge Manager to provide financial assistance with projects deemed necessary for the operation of the Refuge
